Mr. Ikram-ud-Din has taken charge of Director, Regional Meteorological Centre, Quetta in May 2015. He did his M.Sc and M.Phil in Mathematics from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. He got his degree of M.S in Hydrology from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. He has undergone through different professional trainings at National and International levels. He has worked as Technical & Administrative In-charge at Weather Surveillance Radar, Sheikh Zayed Airport, Rahim Yar Khan, as Weather Forecaster at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore for aviation & general public and as Weather & Flood Forecaster at Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore for media, general public and different stakeholder departments. He has good research experience in Mathematics, Meteorology and Hydrology.
Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khan, PhD (Meteorology)
Deputy Director, RMC Quetta
Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khan has taken over the charge of Deputy Director, Regional Meteorological Center, Quetta in July 2015. He did his PhD (Meteorology) and M. Phil (Atmospheric Physics & Atmospheric Environment) from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Nanjing, China. His PhD research is about the impact of the different forcing factor on the extreme precipitation events in the North Pakistan. He got his Masters degree in Meteorology from ComSAT Institute of Information Technology Islamabad, Pakistan. He also completed Masters in Mathematics from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He also obtained the WMO class II and WMO class III Certificates from the Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics of Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi. He has undergone through different professional trainings at National and International levels. He has worked as the Head of the Meteorological Planning and Development Division of PMD for several years. He has prepared and completed various National/International projects. He has served the different Technical & Administrative Departments of PMD since his joining the Department in March 2001.
